Alice Dawson Damer Assistant Director

Alice is a flautist and singer currently studying for a Bachelor of Music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, specialising in historical performance. She is focussing on the Baroque flute, studying under Hans-Dieter Michatz.

As a Baroque flautist, she has performed multiple times as a soloist with the Conservatorium Early Music Ensemble and regularly appears in a variety of ensemble settings. She is also an enthusiastic teacher of the modern flute, working mainly with primary-aged children.

As a singer, Alice performs across a range of styles in both professional and casual contexts. She has appeared as a soloist with the Jubilate Singers and the Solis Ensemble. Her early choral training was with the Sydney Children’s Choir, with whom she first toured internationally. She now appears as a regular chorister with the Sydney Cantata Project and has performed with The Song Company in works including Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem and Tallis’ Spem in alium.

Alice has a particular passion for church music. As a soprano scholar with the Choir of Christ Church St. Laurence, she toured England and Germany, singing services and concerts in historic locations. She has also toured internationally with the St Paul’s College Chapel Choir, singing in major churches throughout England and Paris. Alice currently holds a choral and conducting scholarship at St. Stephen’s Uniting Church.
