A composer's moral panic goes millennial.
What is the Coffee Cantata?
J S Bach wrote this piece about a fad sweeping Leipzig in 1734. His theme about the power of coffee feels suprisingly modern and our intimate salon performance is definitely a contemporary take. Our talented performers are Ed Suttle as a worried father; Leslie Braithwaite as his coffee-addicted daughter; and Michael Handy as the barman.
As a taster for our forthcoming production of Peer Gynt, we will also have a soupçon of Greig performed by Natalie Cassaniti and Lisa Stewart.
They are all accompanied by a small, equally talented ensemble.
